Function
The Global Project Manager (GPM):
· Manages all aspects of a either a programme of projects, or a very complex project (project integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement) · A key project management quality assurance resource, coach and mentor. A leader in the practice of project management.
· Is a customer-oriented role and delivers solutions worldwide.

Project aspects:
Project integration – Activities to integrate various elements of project management.
Scope – Activities to ascertain that the project includes all the work required and only the work required, to complete the project successfully.
Time – Activities concerning the timely completion of the project.
Cost – Planning, estimating, budgeting and controlling costs so that the project is completed within approved budget.
Quality – Activities involved in assuring that the project will satisfy the objectives for which it was undertaken.
Human resources – Activities to organize and manage the project team.
Communications – Activities concerning the timely and appropriate generation, collection, dissemination, storage and ultimate disposition of project information.
Risk – Activities concerned with conducting risk management on the project.
Procurement – Activities that purchase or acquire products, services or results, as well as contract management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management
o Ensure all projects and programmes clearly defined, planned and agreed up front.
o Plan, lead, organise, control and communicate programmes/projects to ensure successful outcomes.
o Maintain effective financial/budgetary control of all projects.
o Effective control of all programme/project change.
o Ensure effective programme/project resourcing.
o Promptly and pro-actively manage the resolution of all issues and risks that arise during programmes/projects .
o Build effective working relationships with all relevant customer, third party and client staff.
o Input to performance appraisal for project participants.
o Keep up-to-date on project management tools and techniques.
o Champion common project management practices across client.
· Practices, quality assurance and coaching/mentoring
o Assist the definition, rollout and training of project management practices.
o Ensure quality standards and practices are understood and followed by the project team. Where deficiencies are identified in those standards and practices; ensure they are immediately identified to the relevant person(s).
o As required, provide a formal project management Quality Assurance role across programmes/projects .
o Provide coaching and mentoring to project managers.
· Communication & Reporting
o Complete all specified reporting to required timeframes.
o Identify, analyse, and promptly highlight as relevant, any key issues and/or risks.
· Teamwork
o Self-managing, take initiative and be pro-active in everything you do.
o Participate in the up-skilling and training of colleagues and new staff.
o Provide support and encouragement to other team members.
· Other
o Ensure relevant, effective working relationships and effective communication with all relevant customer, third party and client staff.

Essential skills and Experience

Knowledge and Experience
o Very broad, technology solution based, project management experience and significant success across a range of projects, organisations and technologies.
o Strongly preferred; certified in one of the mainstream project management certifications; e.g. Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince.
o Preferably a member of one of those mainstream project management organisations.
o Preferable experience in the telecommunications sector.
· Skills
o Excellent leadership, people management, planning, budgeting and project tracking skills.
o Highly effective communication, conflict resolution and people management skills that leads to productive teams and excellent working relationships with all parties.
o Take ownership (delivery, interruptions, etc) of issues through to resolution.
o Quickly identify, analyse and pro-actively solve problems before they affect the outcomes of projects.

· As required, project manages all allocated bid responses.

Function
The Solution Delivery Engineer (SDE):
· Is responsible for pre-installation, configuration, and testing of the solutions deployed by client. Accordingly, strong technical knowledge and skills in areas such as database usage, network protocols, or Unix familiarity are required.
· Involves the co-ordination of dependencies and constraints between the client development, implementation, test, and support teams.
· A customer-oriented role and delivers solutions worldwide.

Duties and Responsibilities
· Implementation and Technical Delivery
o Prepare and maintain all Configuration documentation for the client solution in accordance with the functionality specified in the Solution Design (SD). This documentation is prepared in consultation with the customer's business units to ensure consistency and completeness of the deployed solution.
o Prepare and maintain the Implementation Plan for the client solution components to ensure accurate delivery as well as provide as-built documentation for each deployment.
o Prepare and maintain all required Testing documentation for release to the customer. So demonstrate the client solution's adherence to the agreed requirements.
o Plan and execute staging assembly, configuration, and testing of the solution planned for deployment in accordance with the developed documentation.
o Plan and execute onsite assembly, configuration, and testing of the solution for deployment in the customer's environment in accordance with the developed documentation.
o Manage dependencies and constraints during solution deployment to ensure smooth transitions to the client Support organisation.
o Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of onsite implementation, configuration, and testing processes and methods.
· Communication & Reporting
o Report implementation, configuration, and testing progress to the Project Manager as required.
o Liaise with the client project team and Project Manager to carry out the tasks assigned for solution implementation, configuration, test execution, and reporting.
o Identify, analyse, and promptly highlight as relevant any key issues and/or risks.
o Provide detailed input as required on product- and customer-specific functionality, configuration, and usage for training and documentation purposes.
· Teamwork
o Self-managing, take initiative and be pro-active in everything you do.
o Participate in the up-skilling and training of colleagues and new staff.

Essential skills and Experience

Knowledge & Experience
o Experience with network and multimedia components in mobile, fixed, or Internet telecommunications environments.
o Experience with Unix (preferably Solaris), including scripting (shell, Perl, Python, etc.)
o Good knowledge of Oracle-specific and/or generic SQL database concepts and operation, including scripting.
o Experience with the protocols used by client products, including TCP/IP, SS7, INAP, CAMEL, MAP, H323, Sigtran (and its related subsets), etc.
o Experience with different stages of software development lifecycles and software development fundamentals.
o Experience with the creation and execution of test strategies, plans, and scripts.

The Support and Integration Engineer is:
A role that combines the duties of both a Solution Delivery Engineer and a Local Support Engineer.


Function
The Support and Integration Engineer is:
A role that can combine the duties of both a Local Support Engineer and potentially a Solution Delivery Engineer for at least one specific product.
When he is assigned to a support task, he works with and reports all the steps of his completion to the CSM and eventually a senior engineer.
He is assigned to a project task usually under the supervision of a senior engineer and works with and reports all the steps of its completion to this engineer and eventually to the Project Manager.
